  IN line with the directions of the Government of National Unity to consolidate the model of unified governance, accelerate the implementation of the national digital economy and artificial intelligence program, and as part of the national efforts aimed at building an integrated sovereign digital system, the position of Minister of State for Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence has been established. This strategic step enhances decision-making unity and the integration of roles among state institutions. In this context, a high-level coordination meeting was held bringing together the General Authority for Communications and Informatics and the General Information Authority with the Minister of State for Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence. The meeting was dedicated to aligning national efforts and discussing strategic files related to the Office of the Minister of State, which the two authorities had started working on during the previous phase.

The meeting also witnessed a comprehensive review of national efforts in the areas of digital infrastructure, data governance, and digital transformation platforms, alongside programs and projects related to artificial intelligence applications, within the framework of supporting and implementing the national artificial intelligence strategy, and moving from the planning stage to actual implementation according to a unified national operating model that ensures efficiency and effectiveness.
It was also agreed to launch a series of specialized workshops in cooperation with the Office of the Minister of State and relevant authorities, aimed at aligning policies, determining implementation priorities, and enhancing integration among various government institutions.
The meeting emphasized the importance of developing national skills and building digital capacities through advanced training programs targeting government personnel, supporting the state’s readiness to adopt artificial intelligence technologies, and enhancing Libya’s competitiveness in the digital economy.

It was also emphasized to strengthen institutional coordination and integrate roles among the relevant entities, ensuring the unification of national initiatives, avoiding duplication, and accelerating the pace of achievement, under the direct supervision of the Minister of State, and supporting the realization of the national vision towards Libya as a sovereign digital state powered by artificial intelligence by 2030.
This meeting comes as a confirmation of the government’s approach toward building a unified leadership model based on effective partnership between institutions, contributing to a comprehensive and sustainable digital transformation, enhancing government performance efficiency, improving the quality of services provided to citizens, and supporting economic development pathways.
