In continuation of the efforts to support the path of national digital transformation, and based on the achieved local digital achievements and enablers, the General Information Authority held a technical meeting with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This comes within the framework of enhancing institutional partnership, exchanging expertise, building capacities, and reviewing pioneering international experiences in the field of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI).

The meeting covered reviewing the conceptual and operational framework for developing and enhancing the digital public infrastructure in Libya, and discussing opportunities to utilize international expertise in a way that enhances national enablers and consolidates the foundations of digital governance. This was in addition to discussing a number of axes related to Governance, Compliance & Safeguards, and reviewing the best relevant international practices and models in a way that aligns with national priorities and the requirements of the Libyan institutional environment.

The two sides also discussed opportunities to develop fields of technical and institutional cooperation, enhance national capacities, and develop supporting regulatory and institutional frameworks to build an interconnected and scalable national digital system, depending on existing national pillars, and in a way that contributes to raising the readiness of government institutions and developing digital public services and improving their efficiency.

This cooperation comes as an confirmation of the Authority’s approach based on building on national gains, benefiting from international expertise, and transferring knowledge, in a way that supports the development of national digital enablers, consolidates the principles of digital governance, and enhances the readiness of the state towards providing more efficient and sustainable digital government services.
