The General Information Authority launches the scientific review phase of the seventh national human development report in collaboration with the United Nations

The General Information Authority launched an important phase in the preparation of the 2025 Seventh National Human Development Report, organizing today a strategic meeting in Tripoli dedicated to reviewing and verifying the report’s methodology.
The meeting was held in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and witnessed a high-level attendance that included international experts from the Human Development Reports Office in New York, the Regional Office for Arab States, and representatives from UNDP in Libya.
The attendees encompassed the full national framework for preparing the report, represented by the heads and members of the Advisory and Steering Committees, the Editorial Board, and the head and members of the research team, emphasizing national collaboration to support the report project.
In its opening speech, the Authority stressed that the central objective of the meeting was to evaluate the methodology with the utmost scientific rigor, ensuring its full alignment with the highest international standards. The Authority emphasized that the desired outcome is a forward-looking, authoritative document capable of guiding developmental decisions towards achieving the well-being of Libyan citizens as a top priority.
For his part, the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Libya affirmed that the programme considers this partnership essential to ensure that the report document meets the highest levels of international standards and scientific credibility. He emphasized UNDP’s full commitment to providing the necessary technical support for national efforts, contributing to the production of a practical and reliable development roadmap. The agenda featured a comprehensive presentation of the methodology by the national working teams engaged with the report, followed by in-depth and fruitful discussions on the report’s structure, indicators, and adopted analytical approaches, thus reflecting the synergy of international expertise with national will to successfully achieve this strategic development project.
