Eng. Abdul Basit Salem Al-Baour, Chairman of the General Information Authority, received on Tuesday, Dr. Mustafa Al-Araqt, Director of the Planning Institute, at the Authority’s headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in a number of areas of common interest. The meeting discussed prospects for cooperation to enhance national capabilities in the field of data management and governance and digital transformation, thus contributing to advancing digital transformation in the State of Libya. The two sides discussed the mechanism of developing specialized training programs to raise the efficiency of cadres in the field of data management and governance in accordance with best practices, as well as the importance of spreading awareness of digital transformation concepts and tools, and providing training programs that contribute to accelerating the adoption of digital technologies in various sectors. The meeting touched on the possibility of designing and implementing an accredited specialized diploma program for trainees in related fields, which contributes to building qualified cadres with recognized certificates.
At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed to continue coordination and hold subsequent meetings between specialists from both sides to develop an executive mechanism for the proposed areas of cooperation, and to develop a time plan to follow up on implementation, in a way that ensures achieving tangible results that serve workers in various state sectors and support the process of digital transformation.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Experts Office at the Authority and the Director of the Technical Cooperation Office at the Institute.
