As part of the effort to achieve fairness in fuel distribution and to enhance supply efficiency, the Brega Petroleum Marketing Company, in collaboration with the General Authority for Information, has begun preparing a national strategy based on accurate data and geographical maps related to population density. This came during a meeting held at the headquarters of the General Authority for Information, attended by the Director of the National Database Management, Mr. Nader Saad Melitan, along with several officials from the authority, in addition to the technical committee of the Brega Company mandated by the National Oil Corporation. The discussions focused on the mechanisms for employing the geographical and demographic data provided by the authority to estimate the actual needs of regions and cities, allowing Brega Company to formulate more realistic plans for fuel distribution and ensure its fair and transparent access to all areas.
The attendees confirmed that this step represents a pioneering model for using data to support decision-making within the energy sector, noting that the strategy to be developed will contribute to reducing bottlenecks and meeting the increasing demand based on scientific principles, which will positively reflect on social stability and economic development in the country. This collaboration is expected to establish a common ground for developing innovative technical solutions that enable the improvement of operational processes, enhance the role of data in serving the public interest, and reinforce the principles of justice in the distribution of vital resources.
