The third meeting of 2026 of the Supreme Committee for the National Information System, established under the decision of the Chairman of the General Information Authority No. (121) for the year 2023 AD, was held yesterday morning, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the #General_Information_Authority. The meeting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Engineer Ayoub Rashid Al-Shuweikh, in the presence of all its members. Also participating in the meeting was the Director of the Inspection and Follow-up Office at the Prime Minister’s Office, in response to an invitation from the committee to monitor the work progress and ensure administrative coordination between the Authority and the Presidential Office, along with the Directors of the Documentation Department and the Follow-up Office at the Authority. The meeting witnessed a comprehensive review of the latest developments of the #National_Information_System_Input_and_Output_Guide, and presented completed templates for a number of sectors, in addition to following up on the implementation status of the Sectors in Numbers project, which aims to provide a #National_Statistical_Database that is accurate and unified. The agenda also included specialized technical presentations, as provided by #Ministry_of_Interior_Accurate statistical indicators on crime and traffic accidents, in turn, the Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Industries presented a briefing focusing on the methodology of the sector’s input-output guide.
In the context of enhancing institutional cooperation, the attendees discussed mechanisms for implementing the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers Circular No. (5274). It is worth noting that the mentioned circular emphasized the role of the General Authority for Information as the entity with the original competence in collecting and integrating national data through the #Government_Reports_Platform. It was also stressed to assign #Information_and_Documentation_Centers_in_Ministries the direct responsibility for entering annual reports and technical data through the platform, with full adherence to data accuracy and deadlines, in direct coordination with the Inspection and Follow-up Department at the Secretariat. The meeting concluded by emphasizing the necessity of unifying information standards across all sectoral information centers to ensure the smooth and accurate flow of data within the national system, supporting decision-making based on realistic and up-to-date indicators.
