Within the framework of implementing government directives aimed at accomplishing the General Population Census and accompanying censuses project, the General Authority for Information participated in the meeting chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Planning today, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in the presence of the Head of the Statistics and Census Department and a representative of the Telecommunications Holding Company, to follow up on the technical and technological preparations necessary to begin implementing the national project.
The meeting witnessed a review of the digital infrastructure requirements, institutional integration mechanisms between the relevant entities, as well as a discussion of the technical aspects related to the census system, ensuring the project’s execution according to the latest technical standards and international practices in the field of official statistics.
During the meeting, the General Authority for Information confirmed its technical and technological readiness for the success of the project, through providing the supporting digital environment, enhancing integration with the national database, and utilizing the national data distributor to connect participating entities and exchange data in a secure and reliable manner, to achieve the highest levels of accuracy and quality in the census outputs.
