As part of the Libyan state’s efforts to enhance #sustainable_development and support #digital_transformation, the General Authority for Information signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), aimed at strengthening cooperation in priority national developmental sectors, contributing to achieving a #better_and_more_sustainable_future for all citizens.The signing ceremony took place at the authority’s headquarters, in the presence of Engineer Abdel Basset Salem Al-Baour, the authority’s president, Dr. Sofi Kimakhadze, the resident representative of the programme in Libya, along with Mr. Zouhair Al-Izabi, Director of International Law and Treaties, and Mr. Mustafa Raihan, representative of the International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.In his speech on the occasion, Engineer Abdel Basset emphasized that the partnership represents a #strategic_pivotal_station in the path of national development, noting that the #Libyan_person is the focus and goal of the developmental process, and emphasizing that the signing of the memorandum represents a #new_start for joint developmental projects that will contribute to improving indicators of well-being and quality of life.

For her part, Dr. Sofie Kimkhadze expressed her great appreciation for the role of the authority in the field of human development, praising the interactive presentation provided by the authority regarding the seventh national report on human development, and reaffirming the United Nations Development Programme’s commitment to closely and promptly support the authority to enhance its role in advancing the national development process. -Objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding: • To prepare and implement joint developmental programs, including the seventh national report on human development 2025. • To exchange experiences and best practices through seminars, workshops, and training programs. • To conduct research and consultations to address priority national developmental issues. • To build institutional capacities in collaboration with other United Nations agencies. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Salem Abu Aysha Khalifa, head of the Human Development Report editorial board, along with several directors of departments and offices at the authority and representatives of the program.
