Within its national role in supporting the data system and evidence-based decision-making, the General Information Authority participated in the activities of the workshop on multidimensional poverty, organized by the National Council for Economic and Social Development in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme.
This participation comes as part of the Authority’s efforts to develop and produce national indicators and enhance institutional integration in the field of data, supporting the preparation of the Human Development Report in Libya according to scientific methodologies and international standards.
The Authority affirmed that developing tools to measure multidimensional poverty represents a fundamental pillar for understanding developmental challenges in a more comprehensive manner and contributes to guiding public policies towards achieving social justice and improving quality of life.
The Authority renews its commitment to continue working with all national and international partners to promote the use of data as a strategic tool in supporting sustainable development in Libya.
