Based on the directives of the National Unity Government towards developing public services and enhancing digital transformation, a joint coordination meeting was held with the relevant authorities to review the technical readiness of the **Digital Identity Management System for Citizens** and to explore ways to utilize it in providing financial services. This system is part of the implementation of the **National Digital Transformation Strategy**, as it is one of the fundamental pillars for building an integrated digital ecosystem based on data and enhancing digital trust. The meeting was dedicated to discussing the integration between the digital identity management system and banking systems, including public and private entities, ensuring the provision of a secure and reliable digital environment that supports identity verification processes (eKYC) and contributes to facilitating financial procedures and improving service efficiency. In this context, the **Level 3 Digital Identity**, which relies on biometric data and represents the highest levels of digital verification, was reviewed. It establishes a highly reliable digital identity intended for use in sensitive services, foremost among which are financial and banking services.
The importance of data protection and compliance with regulatory controls has also been emphasized, as this supports efforts to combat financial crimes and terrorism financing, and enhances trust in the digital system.
In this context, **technical trials for biometric digital identity** had previously begun in cooperation with the Central Bank of Libya and with the participation of a number of banking institutions, as a prelude to the actual launch and integration phase.
This progress represents a qualitative step towards building an integrated sovereign digital system based on trust, data security, and user experience.
