As part of supporting digital transformation pathways and implementing national directions in developing digital services, the Chairman of the General Information Authority held an official meeting with the President of the Union of Chambers, in the presence of a number of leaders, officials, and specialists, to discuss mechanisms for launching the electronic system project for the Union of Chambers and ensuring its alignment with national requirements related to data governance and the government services guide.
The meeting was attended by:
– Director General of the Union of Chambers
– Head of the Chambers Office at the Ministry of Economy
– A number of project management engineers and experts
The meeting discussed the technical and organizational aspects of the project, emphasizing the importance of building an integrated digital system that contributes to:
– Enhancing the efficiency of services provided to the business sector
– Improving the quality, accuracy, and reliability of data
– Strengthening interoperability with national platforms, foremost among them the National Data Distributor
– Supporting data-driven decision-making.
The pivotal role of each of the following was also emphasized:
– The National Digital Government Framework as a regulatory and strategic reference to ensure the unification of standards, and to guide the design of government services according to an integrated methodology based on governance and compliance.
– The National Data Distributor as a sovereign operational platform for interoperability, enabling the secure and reliable exchange of data between entities, translating the national framework into effective practical implementation. This integration between the regulatory framework and the technical platform represents a practical model for digital services governance, moving from the phase of theoretical design to actual implementation based on integration and institutional connectivity.
The attendees also stressed the necessity of adhering to the approved national frameworks and standards, including data governance policies and digital government service models, to ensure institutional and technical alignment across various entities.
The Chairman of the General Authority for Information affirmed that this project represents a strategic step towards integrating the Chamber of Commerce Union into the national digital system, which enhances the role of the private sector as an active partner in the digital economy and supports a more efficient and transparent business environment.
For his part, the President of the Chambers Union expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Authority in enabling digital transformation, affirming the Union’s commitment to adopting modern digital solutions and developing its services in line with national trends. This meeting comes as part of a series of national efforts aimed at building an integrated digital system based on data, contributing to the enhancement of economic development and the improvement of the business environment in Libya.
